FGvW further expands Projects/Machinery and Plant Engineering capacity – Marco Becker joins as new Local Partner in Cologne

With Marco Becker (45) joining our firm as a local partner on January 1, 2024, we are consistently continuing our growth course. The lateral entrant is a proven expert in the field of projects/mechanical and plant engineering. He considerably strengthens the firm's professional capacity in this particular area.

Marco Becker started his career in 2008 as a lawyer at Hogan Lovells in Düsseldorf, specialising in projects and disputes. In 2010, he moved to the legal department of Mitsubishi Power Europe (resp. its predecessor company at the time) in Duisburg. From 2012, he was responsible for the (international) contract law/projects team as Deputy Head of the legal department. Since 2017, Becker was General Counsel and responsible for the Legal, Compliance and Insurance department.

Marco Becker has extensive experience in all areas of national and international mechanical and plant engineering. His expertise includes, in particular, project contracts, project/claims management and project disputes (including arbitration proceedings), but also the relevant related areas of law (corporate law, compliance, public procurement law, insolvency law, insurance).

This is particularly true in light of the "ramp-up" of many projects in connection with the energy transition in Germany and worldwide, but also in other areas. This requires large and appropriately specialised teams. At the Cologne office, Marco Becker will work closely with partner Jörn Zons, who emphasizes: "With Marco Becker's many years of experience and expertise in national and international mechanical and plant engineering, we are strengthening our practice and profile in this important industrial sector."
