Compliance Award for FGvW Associate Moritz Jenne

Moritz Jenne from our Freiburg office has won the Young Compliance Managers Award of the Federal Association of Compliance Managers (BCM) in the category "Best Doctoral Thesis". He convinced with his work on the topic "The review and certification of compliance management systems - legal significance of compliance audits and certificates, in particular according to IDW PS 980, in Germany and the USA". In his thesis, Moritz Jenne examines the legal basis for the necessity of compliance, but above all also the prerequisites for the design of the compliance organization and measures for the release of the management from liability. In addition, he analyzes whether a certification according to IDW PS 980 in Germany as well as in the international context can unfold a detaching effect for companies and board members. Last but not least, he makes an exciting contribution to the current discussion on the law of corporate sanctions.
