Dear clients, partners and friends, | The summer holidays are or will soon be over for most of us and it‘s time to return to work. Heatwaves and draught have been in the headlines all over Europe and in many parts of the world this summer, reminding us that climate change is a reality. The war of Russia against Ukraine has shown how dependant many European countries, especially Germany, are from Russian gas supplies. Thus, fear is rising that after a hot summer a cold winter will follow. Clever solutions are needed to save energy and increase the use of renewable energy sources, especially in a country like Germany with little natural resources of fossil energy.
The good thing is that there are already plenty of clever ideas, for example on how to make house constructions carbon-neutral, public transport more efficient and renewable energy more available. We are proud to say that many of our clients are working at such new ideas. The current situation could act as a catalyst for the same and help them become reality faster. This makes us confident that things will change for the better despite or even because of the crisis.
There is a lot to do when we return to work after this summer. We, too, will do our best to assist our clients and partners worldwide in achieving their goals.
For now, have a good last bit of summer and maybe one or the other new insight while reading our newsletter.
Yours sincerely,
Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner
