In each issue of our newsletter, people from our firm introduce themselves personally. This time, it is the turn of our real estate lawyer Miriam Kluge.
I was born and grew up in the Black Forest. After graduating from high school, I quickly realized that I wanted to move to a bigger city to study. As I had always contemplated studying law and the Albert Ludwig University already had a very good reputation back then, I quickly decided to study in Freiburg im Breisgau.
From the very beginning of my law studies, I knew that I would like to study abroad for a longer period of time - not least because I enjoyed my high school stay in New Zealand for several months during my school years so much. As I wanted to improve my French language skills and France is one of my favorite destinations, I decided to study in Grenoble for two semesters at the Université Grenoble Alpes. One of the biggest advantages here was that my achievements on the ski slopes were also rewarded with ECTS points.
After completing my first state examination in law, I was once again drawn to a larger city: I spent my legal clerkship in Düsseldorf. There I learned to love all the advantages and opportunities of this city, not least its proximity to Belgium and the Netherlands. Nevertheless, after three years I was drawn back to Freiburg, my home town.
Back in Freiburg, I quickly realized that I wanted to work as a lawyer in real estate law at FGvW. As a lawyer, because on the one hand I love the creative work and the versatility of this profession and on the other hand I really value the contact with clients. In real estate law, because I can combine my interest in architecture and law and at FGvW, because I was able to get to know and appreciate the law firm at numerous events during my studies and as part of a student internship. Since then, I have enjoyed representing the interests of our clients in real estate law.
