In each issue of our newsletter, people from our firm introduce themselves personally. This time it is the turn of our medical device lawyer Francesca Pisacane.
As my name suggests, I have an Italian background. I was also classically born in the Eternal City - Rome. When I was two years old, my parents emigrated to Germany. I grew up on the idyllic shores of Lake Constance.
After graduating from high school, it was clear to me that I would move out of my parents' house. The most important criteria for me when choosing a new place to live were sunshine and warmth. Looking for that, I moved to Freiburg - and I was not disappointed.
However, choosing a course of study was a little more complicated. Inspired by my grandfather, who was also a lawyer, I finally decided to study law and gave up my childhood dream job as a vet.
During my legal clerkship, I got to know Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner. My positive experiences, which I owe not only to my friendly colleagues, encouraged me to become a lawyer - a decision I have not regretted to this day. For me, the legal profession combines many valuable aspects: the flexibility, the opportunity to work in a team and also the challenge of developing creative solutions to business issues together with clients. The latter is particularly important in the niche market of medical devices, where I mainly advise clients.
In my free time, I play tennis, go jogging or read. I have also grown fond of the southern Black Forest over the past few years in Freiburg and therefore enjoy hiking. And last but not least, I naturally pay regular visits to my Italian homeland.
