FGvW advises Swiss healthcare specialist Affidea on acquisition of Uroviva Group

FGvW has advised Swiss specialist healthcare services provider Affidea on the German law matters of its acquisition of Uroviva Group.

Affidea, a leading provider of diagnostic health services, has completed the acquisition of the Swiss Uroviva Group from the German Equity Partners IV (GEP IV) investment fund, which is managed by the independent German investment company ECM.

This acquisition marks a significant expansion for Affidea, which is increasing its presence in Switzerland from 17 to 33 centers and growing its workforce from 450 to 700 employees. It also positions Affidea as one of the leading providers of outpatient healthcare services in the country.

The acquisition strategically enhances Affidea’s existing portfolio of out-of-hospital diagnostic services and its strong breast cancer care pathway. It also paves the way for the development of a complementary prostate cancer care pathway, unlocking new synergies across pathology, diagnostic imaging, and oncology. By integrating these services, Affidea is now uniquely positioned to offer comprehensive and coordinated care pathways in both breast and prostate cancer treatment.

Uroviva is a renowned network of medical specialists, offering expert care in urology, gynaecology, and oncology. Operating across 16 locations in the Swiss cantons of Zurich, Lucerne, Zug, Solothurn, and Aargau, Uroviva employs approximately 250 professionals – including 55 physicians – delivering high-quality outpatient care and inpatient services where necessary. Its service portfolio features cutting-edge treatment methods and a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
