In each issue of our newsletter we personally introduce people from our firm. This time it is the turn of Lisa Werle from our Freiburg office.

Lisa Werle joined FGvW at the beginning of 2019 as a lawyer in the Freiburg team of commercial and corporate law/M&A. She particularly supports the partners Hendrik Thies and Frank Jungfleisch.

Lisa Werle was born in Dachau, but already in early childhood her parents were drawn to Freiburg, where she grew up and found her home. So she first attended school in the Kaiserstuhl region until she was able to devote herself to her professional future after graduating from high school. Deeply attached to the beautiful Breisgau region, she began studying law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in nearby Freiburg.

Despite her regional ties, Lisa Werle's ambition is and has always been to "look beyond one's own nose", to get to know other cultures and broaden her horizons. Thus, she seized the opportunity to spend a year of her studies in Turku (Finland), not only to expand her general legal knowledge, but also to develop on a personal level. As a member of the Finnish team, Lisa Werle was able to take part in "The Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot 2012-2013" in Vienna, where she and her team were awarded "Best Memorandum for Respondent". Her participation in the Moot Court laid the foundation for her professional career in international commercial law. Lisa Werle completed her legal clerkship in a renowned major law firm in Munich, among others, and again spent several months abroad when she started her elective station in Porirua (New Zealand). At FGvW, she particularly appreciates the international orientation of the mandates as well as the entrepreneurial approach to consulting. She particularly enjoys the varied work in German and English as well as the clients scattered all over the world.

Lisa Werle sees her free time as a wonderful balance to her everyday work. So she travels the world whenever she finds the time. She is also very attached to music; she plays the flute and is passionate about dance and physical activity. At last, she pursues sports in a disciplined manner - be it jogging in the countryside, playing beach volleyball or the regular training in the gym.
