FGvW strengthens Real Estate Law in Berlin with further Lateral Hires from BRL

We are expanding our new office in Berlin. With Jörg Michael Siecke (52), we have gained another partner with a focus on real estate transactions. Together with an associate, he moved from BRL to FGvW. In May 2020, our Berlin office was newly established with the partners Alexander Hartmann and Oliver Ehrmann as well as two associates and a team focused on tax compliance.

Jörg Michael Siecke particularly advises institutional investors and their asset managers from Germany and abroad on real estate transactions. His focus is on commercially used real estate, in particular the asset classes retail and light industrial. Jörg Michael Siecke started his legal career in 2001 in the newly opened Hamburg office of GSK Stockmann before moving to their Berlin office in 2004 where he was appointed Local Partner in 2009. Since 2014, he has been a partner at BRL, where he has already worked regularly on real estate transactions with Ehrmann and Hartmann.

"After successfully integrating our Berlin newcomers Alexander Hartmann and Oliver Ehrmann, we are now happy to welcome our third partner. Jörg Michael Siecke will not only significantly strengthen our Berlin office but also our entire real estate practice group. At FGvW, we can provide cross-border legal support and tax structuring for large real estate transactions from a single source," explains our Managing Partner Barbara Mayer. "During the COVID-19 lockdown period, we communicated with each other even more intensively than usual. As a result, we were very successful in setting up the office in Berlin in May. Jörg Michael Siecke, with his extensive experience, will give another boost to our consulting services in the real estate sector. We now have high-performance consulting teams at all four locations to support real estate transactions and large construction projects alongside construction companies and investors," adds our Managing Partner Carsten Laschet.

Our practice in the areas of construction, plant engineering and real estate law is thus strongly represented throughout Germany. From Berlin, partner Jörg Michael Siecke will work closely with our partners Uwe Steingröver, Arnt Göppert, Jörn Zons and Markus Beaumart in Cologne, Tom Erdt, Christoph Börskens and Hannes Reiher in Frankfurt and Volker Stehlin and Friederike Schäffler in Freiburg. In addition, there are four specialists in public law in Cologne, including partner Olaf Konzak.

For Jörg Michael Siecke the move to FGvW offers excellent prospects: "Friedrich Graf von Westphalen is a leading German law firm with an excellent professional reputation and a strong international orientation. The numerous international cooperation partners, the partnership-based approach and the lean structure are a convincing model that opens up many opportunities," said Siecke.
