FGvW is Among the Top Employers for Young Lawyers

All companies must put up a good fight in the “war for talent” to ensure their own future success. This is also true for law firms. We are therefore happy to be considered one of the 50 most popular employers in Germany for young lawyers, according to newly published research conducted by the legal publishing house JUVE Verlag. We are especially pleased in light of the fact that our competitors are not only other law firms but also employers such as BMW, Audi, Lufthansa and the German Federal Foreign Office.

Our young lawyers have awarded us high marks and a lot of praise, in particular for the atmosphere at the firm (“The relationship between the lawyers is exceptionally good”) as well as its open-mindedness, strong support systems and international character. The M&A lawyers “have international contacts comparable to those at large international law firms”. Our young lawyers are also happy to have the opportunity to spend time working with one of our affiliated law firms abroad or to make the acquaintance of foreign colleagues within our German offices. The advanced training programmes offered by the firm have also received praise: In addition to in-house seminars on specialist topics and soft skills, which are also open to trainee lawyers and interns, the firm also holds joint seminars with colleagues from some of our “best friends” in numerous other countries abroad and with our Swiss partner firm Kellerhals-Carrard. Together with Kellerhals-Carrard, we have also developed the concept of a start-up desk, at which young lawyers give advice on issues relating to company formation, financing rounds and IP strategies.

A good work-life balance is another issue which is increasingly gaining importance in the legal sphere. Many of those participating in the survey particularly mentioned the part-time working arrangements, which not are not merely a theoretical possibility at FGvW but are actually put into practice right up to partnership level, as well as the flexible working hours and the possibility of home-office days.

We are happy about this acknowledgement. It is the foundation for our future recruitment of highly qualified young lawyers which will help us to continue to grow in future.
