Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner is the Number 2 German „Top Registrant“ of Community Trademarks

Trademarks are becoming increasingly important and FGvW belongs to the “top registrants” in Germany. According to the rankings which were recently published by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (“OHIM”), Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner ranks second among German registrants of community trademarks. This excellent ranking of our trademark team led by Norbert Hebeis, Morton Douglas and Eva Kessler was recently determined by the “World Trademark Review”.

Community trademarks are a popular and efficient option to protect trademarks in the European Union. By registering a community trademark, the trademark is protected in all 28 member states of the EU. Since their introduction in 1996, more than 1.1 million community trademarks have been submitted to the OHIM in Alicante. Approximately 100,000 are being added every year.

In the past years, our trademark team has already belonged to the leading registrants of community trademarks among the German law firms. We are pleased to have reached second place in the ranking of “top registrants”, not only because it emphasizes our expertise in this practice field, but also because it shows the confidence our clients have in us. Through our representative office in Alicante we are in constant contact with representatives of the OHIM. Because the trademark team of FGvW has been in a top position for years, the OHIM chose Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner to participate in its “Key User Program”. This enables us to support our clients in protecting their trademarks even more quickly and effectively.
