David Kipping joins Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner from CMS Hasche Sigle

 
On 15 October 2015, David Kipping, LL.M. (38) joined Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner and now strengthens our Cologne office as an additional partner. Previously, he was a counsel at CMS Hasche Sigle in Cologne.
 
Managing partners Barbara Mayer and Carsten Laschet are excited that "David Kipping will contribute to the further development of our Cologne office by adding a classical resort to our practice areas in Cologne".
 
David Kipping’s focus lies on intellectual property rights, especially in the area of trademarks, designs, advertising and unfair competition law. He advises his clients on all issues in connection with the protection of their intellectual property, product launches and advertising campaigns. David Kipping has extensive experience in litigation, especially in cross-border IP disputes. He has special expertise in product labeling law, i.e. the specific labeling requirements for toys, textiles, electronic devices, machines, cosmetics, foodstuffs etc.
 
In cooperation with the strong Freiburg team, David Kipping will build up the IP practice area in our Cologne office. "We expect a stronger impact and market perception in this very important practice area, for which our firm has already received a number of awards. We believe that there will be significant synergies between the practice areas of product labeling law and product liability law as well as between IP and distribution law" says Carsten Laschet, managing partner in our Cologne office.
