In each edition of our international newsletter, we introduce you to one of our lawyers. Today, it is the turn of Peter Metzger from our Freiburg office.

Peter Metzger, born in 1981, joined the Freiburg office of FGvW in May 2011. He is a member of the public law team led by Volker Stehlin, and advises clients on all matters relating to construction: From drafting contracts, to the provision of legal advice in relation to warranty claims, to the assertion of payment and wage claims. The provision of advice on matters relating to planning permissions and building regulations also directly ties into the second main area of focus of his work: Administrative law. Along with Volker Stehlin, he advises clients especially relating to matters of local municipal law.

Born and raised in Mannheim, Peter studied law in Freiburg im Breisgau. Following a stint as an editorial assistant for a specialist legal publisher, he took up his legal traineeship (Referendariat), during which he completed both his law firm internship (Anwaltsstation) as well as his elected intern rotation (Wahlstation) at FGvW; even back then he worked with Volker Stehlin on matters of construction and administrative law. A semester at the German University of Administrative Sciences in Speyer enabled him to deepen his knowledge of administrative law.

Away from work, Peter likes to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoys taking long walks in the countryside around Freiburg and in the Black Forest - on the ski slopes in winter -, or spending long evenings playing board games. He is also passionate about martial arts, in particular, laido.
