In each edition of our newsletter, we introduce you to one of our lawyers. Today, it is the turn of Sabine Schröter from our Frankfurt office.

Since April 2016, Sabine Schröter is a partner in our Frankfurt office. Together with Ali Machdi-Ghazvini she is responsible for the employment law department, supporting national and international businesses in employment law matters. Sabine in particular focuses on the consulting of health care providers and companies active in the IT, wholesale and external trade business, the support of complex reorganisation and outsourcing projects and the provision of legal advice in employment law issues arising in the course of transactions.

Born in 1979 in Halle/Saale, Sabine Schröter grew up in a family of medics. Studying medicine seemed like the best course of action. At the end, however, her curiosity to try something completely new was stronger.

Her legal studies brought her to Leipzig. She spent her legal traineeship in the Black Forest town of Waldshut-Tiengen, in Speyer and Palma de Mallorca. There she felt tempted to abandon all earlier professional plans and to make a living as a finca lawyer. The Spanish housing market crash, however, made returning back to Germany the better choice.

In 2005, when Sabine Schröter began working as a lawyer in our Freiburg office, she discovered her passion for the employment law: the variety of the legal issues involved and their economic background as well as the fact that behind all that it is about the people fascinated her from the beginning.

Sabine Schröter joined a large law firm in Frankfurt in 2010, where she acquired partnership status in 2012. Several good reasons led to her return to FGvW: Besides the good memories of her time at Friedrich Graf von Westphalen it was mainly the mix of entrepreneurial freedom and pleasant teamwork practiced in the firm which influenced her decision. Her affinity for medicine as well as her love for Spain have stayed with her throughout the years. She enjoys working in her main area of interest, health care, and, whenever she finds the time, is actively engaged in the German-Spanish Lawyers’ Association.

Sabine Schröter is married and has a little son of 2 years. She spends her spare time with her family travelling, visiting the zoo and enjoying fun games together. While her dancing shoes are momentarily locked up and exchanged for running shoes, she is hoping to resume dance sport one day.
