FGvW Belongs to the Top Employers for Young Lawyers

Every year clients and colleagues are asked which law firms they would recommend. The latest research conducted by the JUVE publishing house took on a different perspective and reviewed and evaluated law firms and companies from the point of view of young lawyers. The latest edition of this ranking of „top-employers“ in the legal field has recently been published. We are happy that we continue to be among the top 100 favourite employers for young lawyers. We scored particularly well in our own associates’ evaluation.

Our lawyers feel comfortable at our firm and have accordingly given us good grades. ”The relationship among the associates is excellent”. “There is no competition and no fear of contacting partners“, a young associate praises our law firm. Compared to other law firms, the career prospects at our firm speak for themselves: Six of our associates have been made partner in the past five years, the latest being real estate and public procurement lawyer Dr. Friederike Schäffler.

Our training possibilities are also praised. There are monthly seminars within the practice groups in which associates and partners speak about current specialised topics. Once a year, our law firm offers a 2-day seminar together with our colleagues from the Swiss law firm Kellerhals and other foreign „best friends“, in addition to in-house seminars about specialised topics and soft skills, which are also open to trainee lawyers (Referendare)  and interns. Our young colleagues also value the possibility of secondments at clients or other law firms, as well as the fact that compared to many large international law firms, young lawyers have contact with clients at a very early stage of their careers.

The reconciliation of work and family life is also of increasing importance at Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner. Several participants in the survey emphasised that part-time models are not merely offered but also implemented in practice. Working hours can be organised individually and flexibly and home office days are also possible.

We are very happy about this appreciation. It is the fundament of our future recruitment of highly qualified young lawyers with whom we can continue to grow.
