Germany Places 2nd for Overall Brand Ranking in Anholt-GfK Nation Brand Index

The Anholt-GfK Nation Brands Index annually measures the image of 50 countries with respect to exports, governance, culture, people, tourism and immigration / investment. For the 2013 study, a total of 20,445 online interviews were conducted with individuals in 20 developed and developing countries.

As you may have guessed, we would not be telling you about this index, if we did not like its results. But we did. We are particularly delighted with the fact that Germany placed second this year for "Overall Brand Ranking". It is thus the most attractive country after the United States, followed by the UK, France and Canada on ranks three, four and five.

Germany is also among the top three countries for attracting talent and investment, following hot on the heels of the US and Canada on ranks one and two. However, while the US may be the most attractive country for immigration and investment for the fourth year running, this position may be under threat, as its score has shown one of the biggest falls of any nation since last year. Only Egypt, India and Turkey show greater declines in this area. In contrast, Colombia has shown the biggest increase, followed by Russia and Greece.

If you have not yet done so, the aforegoing results may be yet another reason for you to seriously consider doing business in Germany. We would be only too pleased to provide you with the required legal advice in this regard.
