Gerhard Manz re-elected to Board of bwcon

Gerhard Manz, a partner in the Freiburg office of FGvW, was re-elected as board member of the Wirtschaftsinitiative Baden-Württemberg: Connected e.V. ("bwcon") for a further two years during bwcon's general meeting on 13 November 2013.

bwcon is the leading business initiative for the promotion of Baden-Württemberg as an innovation and high-tech location. As one of the largest technology networks in Europe, bwcon brings together approximately 600 companies and research institutions. The main fields of activity of bwcon include the creative industries, health care, information and communication technology. bwcon also offers an extensive range of consultancy and support services for start-up and expanding companies. The main aim is to connect young entrepreneurs with established companies in order to generate potential for the development of Baden-Württemberg as a high-tech region.

The focus of bwcon's south-western regional office in Freiburg is on the areas of health care and globalisation. In the health care sector, the aim is to bring together companies from the areas medical technology, connected health and IT, which seldom come into contact with each other in their day-to-day business. The Special Interest Group Globalisation' specifically networks companies of all sizes who see globalisation as an opportunity. Through networking, information and training, the object is to strengthen the position of companies in Baden-Württemberg as leading customers and suppliers in the global market.

Gerhard is a partner in the Corporate / M&A team of FGvW. He is considered as being a "leading lawyer in the Southwest" (JUVE Handbook of Commercial Law Firms 2013/2014), enjoys "an outstanding reputation nationwide as a corporate and transactional lawyer, and is without doubt one of the most renowned German experts in corporate and transactional law" (Law Firms in Germany Legal Directors, 14th Edition 2013).
