In each edition of our international newsletter, we introduce you to one of our lawyers. Today, it is the turn of Tom Erdt from our Frankfurt office

Tom Erdt
was born in 1963, and admitted as a lawyer in 1994. He is an accredited specialist (Fachanwalt) for administrative law, and a partner in our Frankfurt office. Tom became involved in advising on the re-transfer of the ownership of businesses in the territory of the previous German Democratic Republic (DDR) as far back as 1990, when and while he was working towards being admitted as a lawyer. He later advised the privatisation agency in relation to litigation matters concerning (failed) business acquisitions. Tom's current varied corporate law practice pertaining to the purchase / sale of businesses and the structuring of such transactions developed from these origins. Tom also focuses on commercial property law, and advises clients such as institutional investors in this regard, including in relation to the structuring of funds, and on real property transactions. Lastly, Tom has a continuing interest in compliance, given that he has been involved in advising on complex corruption proceedings since 1997. Tom frequently holds lectures and speeches on the topic of compliance.

Tom originally hails from Schleswig-Holstein, but has been living in Frankfurt with his family for 17 years. He loves sports and music, and is an ardent saxophone player. If you are lucky, you may catch one of his legendary performances on the streets of Ginnheim in Frankfurt during Christmas time.
