The German Federal Bar Association has again appointed our Partner Barbara Mayer to its Committee for Corporate Law

The executive committee of the German Federal Bar Association (Bundesrechtsanwaltskammer – “BRAK”) has once again appointed our partner Barbara Mayer to its committee for corporate law. As a member of the committee, Barbara Mayer will provide expert opinions on draft legislation and prepare legal opinions with regard to corporate law issues for the executive committee of the BRAK for the next four years (2016 – 2019). The committee comprises of 11 members and is one of the expert committees set up by the BRAK. The members of these committees, which range from labor law to civil law, prepare expert opinions and often take part in consultations at the ministries or in parliament.

The members of the committee of experts are representatives of renowned law firms, such as Flick Gocke Schaumburg, Taylor Wessing, Oppenhoff & Partner, Kaye Scholer, Happ Luther und Göhmann.

Barbara Mayer’s appointment to the BRAK’s committee for corporate law reflects the nationwide acknowledgement of FGvW’s corporate team. This is further confirmed by the fact that the head of Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner’s Corporate/M&A team, Gerhard Manz has been a member of the BRAK’s managing committee of the working group for corporate and commercial law since 2006.

With reference to its strength in the practice area Corporate/M&A (business transactions), Friedrich Graf von Westphalen & Partner was just recently again included in the renowned JUVE Handbook of German Commercial Law Firms list of top commercial law firms in Germany.
